There's nothing I love more than a retro engagement shoot -the sophistication, the antiques, the fashion! I love them so much in fact, my very own engagement session was a 1950s-inspired train station theme at Los Angeles' Travel Town Museum... with me in a retro tea-length dress & my honey in a tailored suit, it was deliciously Bogart-Becall-esque! So naturally, I couldn't take my eyes off today's engagement session. With Maria & Dan's love of all things retro, their Mad Men themed shoot was sure to strike a nostalgic chord. Here's what the bride had to say about their inspiration:
We tried to choose items that were made in the 1950s -1960s. We were drawn to this era because we love the way people dressed - very classy and elegant, even for daytime. Women wore feminine dresses that accentuated their figures and men wore simple tailored suits. They held themselves with confidence and perfect posture, of course with a martini or whiskey glass in hand.
So grab your fedora and put on your lace gloves as we travel back to a time when cigarettes were considered "good for your health" and lunch was served with a round of cocktails...
