My Best Friend's Wedding (literally!)

When I was 16 years old, there were only a handful of people in the world who "got" me - Jane Austen, the producers of the teenage sci-fi drama 'Roswell', waterproof black eyeliner, and my best friend Jeannette.  From matching the rubber bands on my braces to my homecoming dress to being rejected by a high school crush, Jeannette was always there to back me up.  And although we were very different (me the nerdy bookwork who dreamed of being a writer; her the popular high school starlet who knew rockstar-dom was inevitable), nothing could keep us apart.  We were sisters and that was that!

And that is how it has been for the last 13 years.  From relationships to moving to opposite coasts to ever-evolving career paths, our friendship has remained unchangeable.  If I need her in a moment of distress, I know that she'll be on the next plane out of L.A. and will be in New York within hours.  The same way that if I find out someone's hurt her, I'll be the first person toting a bat and merrily chanting "Someone's gonna get it!".  She's my girl and this is why I'm so excited to share her wedding with you today.

Years ago, in a moment of frustration Jeannette had said to me "where is he?!  I know he's out there!".  Well, about 2 years ago she found him.  Noah was everything she was looking for: handsome, funny, adventurous (a very successful competitive fisherman), and (most importantly) smitten with Jeannette!  Within five minutes of meeting him, I knew he was the one for her too - not only was he a sweetheart & helplessly adored my girl, in all our years together I had never seen Jeannette happier.

So this year, I had the pleasure to attend my best friend's wedding.  Photographed by the incomparable Donald Norris (also the wedding photographer for yours truly!), welcome to Jeannette & Noah's gorgeous nuptials...

I love you, Jeannette Jaan!

Please post your sugary-sweet comments here. As Mama Petticoat taught us, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"... so all negative, mean, or irrelevant remarks will be deleted. Merci, beaucoup!
