Mad Hatter Baby Shower Tea Party 10

Combining sophistication and whimsy is an art form.  You don’t want the event to be too stuffy and you also don’t want it to feel like you’ve stepped into a cartoon.  Whether it’s incorporating a cheeky detail or seeing the theme through the end, this combination can lead to spectacular results.  Take for instance today’s mama-to-be.  From the moment she found out she was pregnant, Natasha implemented her fairytale style in all things baby.  And with a Mad Hatter themed baby shower, she clearly has brought her whimsical game.  Photographer Krystal Zaskey breaks down all the fabulous details:

This baby shower followed a long line of Alice in Wonderland related aspects of Natasha’s pregnancy, including a “Don’t be late” belly painting and a “Through the Looking Glass” themed maternity shoot. It seemed only appropriate to follow in suit with the baby shower. Natasha knew she wanted something unique and fun for her guests, so we used an afternoon tea party as our starting point. The location was under beautiful hanging banyan tree’s in Dreher Park in the heart of West Palm Beach. We used clock’s, keys, and mismatched seating to give a very eclectic feel to the setting. Orange Blossoms Florals and Event Styling set beautiful tablescapes complete with antique teapots, books, tea sets, and candelabras adorn with beautiful hydreangea. A tea party wouldn’t be complete with out afternoon tea hats of course, so we had all the guests make their own. Guests dined on finger sandwiches, homemade raspberry tarts, and even a delicious custom made “Don’t be Late” cake from Publix Greenwise bakery.
