This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of RAGÚ® Pasta Sauce. All opinions are entirely my own.

There are a few staples that can be found in everyone’s cupboards. Olive oil, a jar of cinnamon spice, canned beans, pasta sauce, nuts. You’re quietly nodding your head, aren’t you?  Well, let’s dust one of these babies off and bring them back into the dinner rotation. Pasta Sauce. Specifically, RAGÚ® Sautéed Onion and Garlic Sauce. I have teamed up with the brand to bring you a quick and easy recipe to shake up your dinnertime rut. How do Sautéed Onion & Garlic Tomato Scones sound?

Oh yes, pasta sauce isn’t just a topper for spaghetti. No, it can actually be a main ingredient in a baked good. I have created a twist on the classic savory scone or biscuit by centering a flavor theme around the RAGÚ Sautéed Onion and Garlic Sauce. Featuring the sauce, fresh sautéed onions and garlic, jalapeño jack cheese, and buttermilk, they are little slices of delectable heaven. An extra perk? You can whip up a batch of these babies over the weekend and enjoy them over the rest of the week. Quick and easy, my friends. Here is what you will need to do:

INGREDIENTS:

2/3 cup of RAGÚ Sautéed Onion and Garlic Sauce

½ cup of jalapeño jack cheese (shredded)

1 tablespoon of buttermilk

½ teaspoon of salt

2 ½ teaspoons of baking powder

1 egg

¼ cup of white onion (sliced)

2 garlic cloves (sliced)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Sauté the sliced onion and garlic cloves until slightly browned. Set aside.
  2. Preheat the oven to 400F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the flour, almond flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Grate the cold butter into the bowl and lightly mix.
  5. Add the RAGÚ Sautéed Onion and Garlic Sauce, buttermilk, and egg. Mix well until a thick dough is created.
