Is it just me or are you also willing to travel for a good cocktail? Now, I am not talking leaving your cozy suburb and make the 30 minute trek into downtown to a trendy bar. I am talking hop on a plane, don your most tropical bathing suit, and get your drink on by the beach… sort-of-travel. If you think this sounds completely insane, then let me direct you to your local Yelp directory here. Still reading? Alright, you are clearly my sort of person. Now that all the non-adventurers have moved on, let’s get down to the goods. The Family Coppola Resort, Turtle Inn, has one of the best bars in Belize.
Central America? Yeah, not too unreasonable travel for a good drink on the beach. The resort’s head mixologist, Fermin Choc, has just been awarded ‘Best Bartender in Belize’ and it is with good reason. The drinks magician infuses liquor with local ingredients that have been sourced from both Placencia and the Inn’s onsite organic garden. The cocktails’ unique blend of traditional and tropical flavors make their beachside bar a must-visit. Choc also integrates Francis Ford Coppola wines in the cocktails, utilizing the resort’s wall-to-wall glass-encased wine cellar… which also happens to be home to the largest wine collection in Central America. Holding over 1,200 bottles from the Family Coppola’s three wineries in Sonoma and Napa counties. Best of all, Fermin Choc is sharing two of his staple cocktail recipes with us today. So, scroll down to mix up his famous Sofia Margarita and Bloody Mary and check out the sights of Turtle Inn…
